It’s been a while since LG dropped the ‘Optimus’ moniker from its range of devices, but now the company has decided to bring some Android KitKat love for its users. Its older devices namely, Optimus G and Optimus G Pro, are all set to receive Android 4.4 KitKat updates, confirmed LG Brazil.
According to the company, the Android KitKat update will be released for Optimus G Pro by the end of this month and for Optimus G by the end of August. A report by AndroidOS also confirms that LG Optimus G Pro E988 has begun receiving 4.4.2 KitKat update in India. Besides, LG has also rolled out the update in other Asian countries like Indonesia, adds the report.
The OTA update can be accessed via Settings > About phone > Software update. The 684MB file will ensure that Optimus users can access all the KitKat features. The Optimus G that was launched alongside Nexus 4 was the company’s bestselling devices and had quickly crossed the one million sales mark. Some of its key features include 4.7-inch display, 13MP camera, 3G, Wi-Fi and GPS capabilities.
In the past couple of months, LG has been busy pushing KitKat updates for its devices. In May, the company had announced KitKat update for the Optimus L9 2 and G Pro Lite.
